Downhill skiers
There are several options with skiing from 1400m to 2800m; there are two ski lifts and a four seater chair lift near the village, BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY you can take the Torrent cable car (300m from the apartment) up to the vast skiing area with over 60km of slopes of all degrees of difficulty.

Some of these slopes are used for World Cup training and testing by the Swiss Olympic teams. Six ski lifts, one chair lift and one cable car connect the skiing areas of Torrent and Albinen.

Once at the top, mountain and sun lovers will discover the magnificent panorama over the Valais and Bernese Alps and their 4000m peaks which include Mont Blanc and the Matterhorn.

There are two very good restaurants at the top of the mountain and it is possible to ski to others.

Cross Country Skiers
There are two main areas within walking distance of the apartment. A 5 k trail near to the village with a restaurant en route that prepares home cooking or take the cable car up to the Gemmi pass and if you feel energetic walk down to the Daubensee – if not take the chairlift.

This is handy on the way back after you have completed the 8 k and 10 k circuits after enjoying the powdered snow and the exceptional quietness and relaxing atmosphere of the area.

For the non skier
The natural thermal Spas are an unforgettable experience. It is something everyone should try. It is impossible to describe the feeling of well-being after enjoying a morning/afternoon in water at a temperature of 51 degrees, both indoor and outdoor with a varied assortment of appliances that direct water jets at various parts of the body. In winter the experience of bathing in warm water with ice in you hair is incredible.

Add to this the experience of a Roman Irish Bath and especially for the ladies some of the most sophisticated beauty treatments available and you have the perfect formula for well being and relaxation.

There is a full size indoor swimming pool to Olympic standards within one of the Spa complexes and an outdoor pool which caters for families at the other main Spa complex.
Before you descend in the cable car you can enjoy the spectacular views of Mont Blanc and the Matterhorn from the mountain top restaurant. Alternatively you can walk to the other side of the mountain to another restaurant take a different cable car and get the bus back to the village.

In addition to this there are facilities for, ice skating and tennis all year round. The sports arena offers indoor and outdoor ice rinks, an indoor curling rink, three tennis courts, two squash courts, at least four table tennis tables, badminton and a fitness centre.
The heights of Leukerbad are excellent for paragliding.
A challenging toboggan run has been created at the Daubensee.

There are many kilometres of well kept paths to enjoy throughout the winter and enjoy the fresh mountain air and spectacular views.
